A Very Unusual Wedding 
My grandparents, Kermit and Murle Moncus had a very unusual wedding! I stayed with my Granny Murle and took care of her before she died because I did not want my family to put her in a nursing home. In doing this, we had many opportunities to talk about various things. I was about 26 years old, and for some reason, after knowing her for 26 years, I asked her the magic question! "Granny, where did you and Grandaddy get married?" Answer..."In Herman and Inez Kilgore's car." She said it like she was commenting on the weather! My mouth flew open and for the first time in my talkative life...I was SPEECHLESS! I looked at her with what must have been the most confused look she had ever seen. When I finally got my wits about me, I asked her "Why haven't you ever told me this before?" Her VERY CALM reply was "You never asked." Then I asked for details, When? Why? How? Where? Who? (I should have been a reporter *said sarcastically*) The When was April 14, 1934. When I asked her Why, she said "Well, it seemed like the thing to do at the time!" WOW! Was my Granny COOL or what? She did something WILD and CRAZY waaaaay before it was in style to do it! She told me that Judge Caldwell rode with them, with she, Grandaddy, and the Judge in the back seat, Herman and Inez in the front to witness. I plan to talk to Herman soon, he is still living, as far as I know. After I talk to him, I will update this little story. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. By the way, no one else in the family that was alive at the time knew this story,(except Herman, who I am sure is related to us somehow) so if I had not been taking care of her, and asked the magic question, this story would have died with her!
